You might think salt, sand and kitty litter have nothing in common, but they actually are all commonly bought in the winter. That's because they each can be used to help your car when it's having trouble going forward or gaining traction in Maryville, MO. But while they all serve a similar purpose, you have to use each differently.

Salt is usually the best option if you want to melt ice and use the grittiest material for adding traction on your driveway. It's also the most expensive option and it should not be stored in your trunk in case it spills and causes corrosion.

Kitty litter can be stored in your trunk, and if you suddenly get stuck, it can be placed under the tires to make a short path out. It doesn't melt ice and in fact can soak up water and become slippery if substituted for salt or sand. Sand performs the same functions as salt except for melting ice, but it's not corrosive and it's also cheaper.

The winter season means not only preparing your driveway, but also preparing your vehicle and that's what we do at our Maryville service center. We can fine-tune your vehicle to handle the winter terrain and make sure it doesn't get stuck or break down.
